Today Dr. Berg answers the question – “Do I have to do Intermittent fasting with Ketogenic Diet?” The answer is YES! The main problem with doing Ketogenic Diet without is Intermittent is the frequent meals a day because every time you eat you stimulate insulin. If you are over the age of 45-60, menopausal or have slow metabolism then Ketogenic Diet will not work for you unless you do Intermittent fasting. Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent work together to help you lose weight and get healthy.
Hi guys, recently I had a question, do I have to do intermittent fasting? Can I just do ketogenic diet without doing intermittent fasting? The answer is yes, you have to do intermittent fasting and here’s why. There’s a lot of people out there doing ketogenic diet that aren’t losing weight, why? Because they allow snacking between the meals. Even though it is low carb which is a step up and much better and a lot of people will lose weight especially if they have a good metabolism. The great majority will not lose weight because of the fact that every time you eat you stimulate insulin. Frequent meals are bad idea. The big point about this is if you’re over the age of 45, 50 or 60, menopausal, slow metabolism, ketogenic diet will not work for you unless you do intermittent fasting. Ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting are equally important tools to help you get healthy and lose weight. It is not just about losing weight, it is about getting healthy so you could maintain it. You do it in a gradient and slowly, start with three meals and no snacks, add more fat at the meals and start pushing your breakfast forward until you don’t have a breakfast. If you are not hungry in the morning, don’t eat. Don’t eat if you are not hungry anytime, just keep going because your body is eating your own fat. Do them together and it will work for you.
